Led by Eloise Theisen, a board-certified Adult Geriatric Nurse Practitioner, the webinars consist of 5 weekly 90-minute sessions. Attendees participate using the Zoom Web Conferencing platform, and discussion is conducted both during the sessions and via email for the duration of the course. Continuing education credits are available for health professionals.

For general audiences, Timothy Byars and Rebecca Byars are available to speak about the ethnobotany and history of cannabis and can provide an overview of the endocannabinoid system, basic cannabinoids, routes of administration, conditions cannabis may help treat, and myths and misconceptions.

This module describes the guidelines published by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing to help nurses use cannabis as a treatment modality.
The Endocannabinoid System: 13 Minutes
This module provides an overview of the human endogenous cannabinoid system (ECS), including the ligands, cell receptors, and enzymes that make comprise the ECS.
Cannabinoid Basics: 29 Minutes
This module describes common cannabinoids and terpenes and discusses how cannabinoids and terpenes influence the endocannabinoid system.
Extractions and Routes of Administration: 25 Minutes
This module describes basic information about cannabis extraction methods and routes of administration, including inhalation, ingestion, sublingual, topical applications, and transdermal applications.
Geriatrics: 35 Minutes
This module describes considerations unique to the senior patient population and how to use cannabis to treat illnesses and conditions typical of senior patients.
Chronic Pain, parts 1 and 2: 12 Minutes and 30 Minutes
This module describes categories of pain, describes the physiologic pathways through which cannabis can provide analgesia, and provides information about using cannabis to help treat nociceptive, neuropathic, and nociplastic pain.
Cannabis Pharmacology: 57 Minutes
This module provides an in-depth description of the cell receptors, enzymes, ligands, and drug transporters relevant to cannabinoid pharmacodynamics. It describes the absorption, metabolism, distribution, and excretion of cannabinoids. It describes how clinicians and patients can use genetic polymorphisms as data points for predicting patient response and for mitigating the risk of adverse effects, especially in cannabis-naïve patients. And, this module describes the drug interactions that should be considered when working with cannabinoids.
Patient Assessment and Dosing: 15 Minutes
This module provides general guidelines for patient assessment and dosing and some best practices to consider when recommending cannabis for patients.
Cannabis Myths: 32 Minutes
This module corrects prevailing misinformation about cannabis and cannabis use. Topics include the Gateway Theory, cannabis and its relationship to schizophrenia, cannabis and cognitive impacts, and addiction.
In cannabis education, it’s critical that information be updated frequently. New information is coming out weekly—new data from the published medical literature, new observations from clinicians treating patients with cannabis, new discoveries from the scientific community, and new products from the cannabis industry. Radicle Health training material is updated frequently and we are continuously adding new content to the package. And, all of our students have access to course material for an entire year, so students can continue to benefit from our supplemental material.
